For a consecutive year, Allwyn is collaborating with the Peace Race, a cycling competition rich in tradition. Established in 1948 as an emblem of harmony and reconciliation in post-war Europe, the competition gathers promising young cyclists under 23 years of age from across the world. This year, athletes from 22 nations, including Austria, Colombia, France, Great Britain, Germany, Mexico, and Ukraine will be competing.

Considered a proving ground for future icons of the sport, the Peace Race is part of the esteemed UCI Nations Cup. The 2024 edition will occur in the Czech Republic from May 30th to June 2nd, spanning a demanding 468 kilometers with a total ascent of 7981 meters.

Allwyn, as the administrator of the UK National Lottery, is utilizing its international platform to promote the race’s message of inclusivity and the ability of sport to unify. Pavel Turek, Allwyn’s Chief Global Brand, Corporate Communication and CSR Officer, aptly encapsulated the partnership: “This transcends a mere competition; it’s about the future it embodies. The Peace Race acts as a launchpad to the highest echelons of international cycling, demonstrating the transformative influence of sport.”

Opel is a staunch advocate for the Peace Race, believing in uniting individuals and fostering a world where everyone feels embraced and thrives. They take pride in upholding this legacy.”

Leopold König, leading the Peace Race, expressed his perspective:

“Annually, we witness exceptionally gifted young cyclists vying for victory, yet the Peace Race signifies much more than mere competition. It centers around nurturing cultural interchange among nations. Cyclists hailing from diverse heritages and political structures converge, forging bonds that transcend geographical boundaries.”

“We eagerly anticipate welcoming a substantial audience to observe the extraordinary abilities of these young cyclists, who embody the sport’s future. This year, we’ve crafted a demanding route, and I’m personally keen to witness these emerging luminaries of international cycling exhibit their prowess.”

It’s noteworthy that Opel recently reinforced its dedication to championing inclusivity and global harmony by unveiling its sponsorship of the 2024 Wings for Life World Run. As a worldwide partner, Opel will furnish vital backing for this motivating occasion.
