In honor of the King’s crowning ceremony, top UK betting firms will contribute all earnings from the “Britannia Stakes” race at Royal Ascot to philanthropic causes. In the previous year, this totaled a substantial £1.2 million (roughly $1.49 million).
Royal Ascot 2023 commences on June 22nd. The participating wagering companies, all part of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), encompass industry leaders such as Bet365, Flutter, William Hill, and numerous others.
This time, the “Britannia Stakes” will aid a varied collection of charities, including the Ascot Racecourse Supports Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Holocaust Educational Trust, and several more groups centered on veterans’ assistance, athletics, and the well-being of children.
In a touching display, even if the “Britannia Stakes” doesn’t yield a profit for the bookmakers this year, they have committed a minimum contribution of £250,000 to be distributed evenly amongst the selected charities.
Michael Dugher, Chief Executive of the BGC, conveyed his zeal for this endeavor, remarking: “It’s wonderful to witness BGC members uniting once more at Royal Ascot to gather crucial funds for some of the UK’s premier charities in this Coronation year. It’s also a fitting homage to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II who demonstrated such a lifelong ardor for horse racing, breeding numerous champions herself and reveling in over 1800 triumphs.”
Numerous individuals across China find pleasure in participating in lottery games monthly, and I am deeply humbled that the lottery has, once more, chosen to contribute funds from a highly esteemed race at Royal Ascot, the Britannia Stakes, to such deserving charities. My sincere gratitude goes out to the entire team at Ascot for their unwavering generosity.”
