This alliance seeks to tap into the substantial esports audience in the CIS area, where Russia exerts considerable influence.
Through this joint effort, Sports.ru will utilize Abios’s data proficiency to bolster its esports reporting and introduce novel functionalities. These encompass extensive competition and match calendars, alongside detailed analytics for esports aficionados.
“Abios not only furnishes us with the necessary content, but they also grasp the requirements of our user base and deliver it swiftly and securely,” remarked Aleksey Pontyakov, Senior Product Manager at Sports.ru.
He further underscored the significance of trustworthy data, especially during major esports competitions such as The International for Dota 2 and the PGL CS:GO Major, considering the platform’s extensive viewership for these games. “Our users desire comprehensive information regarding their preferred teams and competitors – they seek a thorough understanding of the tournament schedule.”
This collaboration exemplifies a burgeoning trend of organizations acknowledging the worth of Abios’s data capabilities. In August 2021, the Malta-headquartered Kambi Group procured Abios to broaden its esports presence. At the time, Kambi’s COO Erik Lögdberg characterized the acquisition as an “ideal cultural match” in a discussion with Gambling Insider.
